If you think your partner is not watching Netflix shows in your absence, you are wrong. The new data reveals that more than 48 percent of streaming couples in the US are slipping up and watching ahead of their partners.

Netflix found over 80 percent of streamers said they are repeat offenders when it comes to Netflix cheating.

Bad news if your Valentine's Day plans included catching up on your favorite TV shows with your sweetheart: They may have already watched them without you. Four years later, cheating has increased three times and has become a common behaviour around the world. And that isn't the end of the cheating: 60% of Netflix users say that that would continue to cheat if they were assured they could get away with it. 81 percent of Netflix cheaters in the United Kingdom have cheated multiple times, and over half (52 percent) don't even feel bad about it. Wow.

So what shows are people cheating with? The data was then broken down by age and gender of adult online populations who stream TV shows in the United States, Canada, UK, Australia, New Zealand, Philippines, Singapore, India, Japan, Taiwan, South Korea, Hong Kong, UAE, Mexico, Chile, Colombia, Brazil, Argentina, Spain, Portugal, Turkey, Poland, Italy, Germany, France, Sweden, Norway, The Netherlands and Denmark. The Walking Dead, Breaking Bad, American Horror Story, House of Cards, Orange Is The New Black, Narcos, and Stranger Things were among the top temptations.

According to the study, 66 percent of cheaters said the shows are "just so good we can't stop binging".

Approximately 54 percent of people surveyed said they remained loyal to their significant other and stuck to their regular watching schedule together - citing spending time together, relaxing together and making conversation as their reasons for staying faithful, Netflix said. In this modern world, there's such a thing as cheating via streaming, or when your partner goes ahead and watches episodes of a show without you that you promised you would watch together.

Netflix's study was conducted by SurveyMonkey from December 20-31, 2016 and was based on 30,267 total responses.
