Clinton hits back at Trump tweet with 'covfefe' joke

Darrell Mcdonald | 07 June, 2017, 16:46

Hillary Clinton and President Donald Trump were at it again on Twitter in the evening hours of Wednesday, May 31, but the former Secretary of State had a new jab at her disposal when the president insulted her seemingly out of the blue.

When asked about why Democrats lost in 2016 and Clinton's inability to take full responsibility for her election defeat, Perez said they were "focused on the future".

"The Russians, in my opinion, and based on the intel and counterintel people I've talked to, could not have known how best to weaponize", she said, "unless they had been guided ... by Americans and guided by people who had polling and data information".

Hillary Clinton says President Donald Trump has unleashed a level of vitriol and hate that is "incredibly risky".

Clinton then hit back with her own tweet.

"I think it's ok [sic]".

Mr Trump was not buying it.

Before Wednesday, Clinton had also blamed former FBI Director James Comey for her loss, particularly his decision to reopen her email investigation. Therriault said the DNC data never had those states as "even close to safe", but the Clinton team "thought they knew better". The Democratic National Committee's data, she said, "was mediocre to poor, nonexistent, wrong".

"He tweeted, "[For what it's worth], the data operation Clinton "inherited" was the most robust data operation the DNC has ever seen, including during the Obama [re-election campaign]".

On May 31, Clinton reflected on her 2016 election loss during an interview at the 2017 Code Conference in California.

John Hagner, a partner at Clarity, added: "I worked with DNC data every day last cycle, on winning Gov races".

Clinton talked at length about Russian involvement in the 2016 contest, referring to US intelligence assessments that Russia not only meddled in the election, but did so to help Trump defeat Clinton.

Give Clinton (or one of her lackeys) credit for this comeback, a play on Trump's mysterious new pet word.

"We're living in such an abnormal time, when we look at the way this White House is behaving about some of the biggest challenges we face", she said.

This time she blamed the New York Times for its coverage of the e-mail scandal, the Democratic National Committee for providing her with bad data and former Federal Bureau of Investigation director James Comey for the late October e-mail surprise.
