Su Oh heads the Australian challenge after round two at the LPGA Classic in Grand Rapids, seven shots off the pace set by teenager Brooke Henderson.

The fans, she said, bring her special joy.

"Two bogeys to finish, but that just gives me a little more motivation going into tomorrow".

Former world number one Lydia Ko and Michelle Wie lie tied for 7th place on 11-under par with Spain's Carlota Ciganda and Moriya Jutanugarn - sister of new world number one Ariya. I was looking at birdie nearly every hole, which is quite nice.

"After the third one, I'm like, oh, here we go, when am I going to make my first par?"

"It was just a matter of really staying patient", Thompson said of her round Saturday. "So yeah, felt pretty good".

The rains came in at Blythefield Country Club pushing the 3rd round tee times back two hour.

The course was reduced to a par 69 after heavy rains turned the par-5 fifth hole into a par 3 because of standing water.

"Could have been really close to being a great shot", Henderson said. "It's been a packed leaderboard since the very first shot on the first hole. But this week seems to be a turnaround week and hopefully I can just finish strong the next two days".

Thompson also shot 64, amassing six birdies and a bogey, to edge Lee-Anne Pace by one shot overall after the South African fired a sizzling eight-under 61 in a round which included two eagles, five birdies and a bogey.

Henderson birdied Nos. 12 and 13 and closed with five pars.

Coming off a playoff loss to Ariya Jutanugarn last week at the Manulife Classic in Cambridge, Ont., Thompson had six birdies - four on the back nine - and a bogey to reach 15-under 196.

Mirim Lee, Madelene Sagstrom, Stacy Lewis, Emily Pedersen, and 2017 winners Shanshan Feng and Cristie Kerr are at -10 through three rounds and in prime position for a Sunday charge.
